Gosia Kołdraszewska

Gosia Kołdraszewska is a Warsaw-based artist whose practice is an interdisciplinary exploration of socio-political critique. She works in cycles, dictated by the contexts from which the work emerges, with her former education in art history and theory having a great influence on her art and design.

“We live in times characterised by an unusual mix of often contradictory discourses, which makes our reality seem surreal,” Gosia explains. “Balancing on this edge of reality, using aspects of surrealism has become the only way for me to communicate everyday life. That’s what I look for, a storytelling method based in new surrealism and neo-expressionism.”

In Warsaw, Gosia runs an art print studio DEFEKT, where she develops her own projects and ones in collaboration with other artists. She is also a member of many artist and curatorial collectives celebrating young Polish art.
